Application submission is now closed for the 2025 Class of AMSSM Fellows. New Fellows will be announced to the AMSSM membership after the first of the year and honored at the 2025 Annual Meeting.

Member Alan Shahtaji, DO Serving as Team Doc in FIFA Women's U20 World Cup |

The 2014 World Cup in Brazil maybe over, but the 2014 FIFA Women's U-20 World Cup in Canada is still going strong. Alan Shahtaji, DO is right in the thick of it serving as the team physician for the US U-20 Women's National Team. He has worked with the team for several years.
Earlier this week Team USA advanced to the quarterfinals after beating China 3-0. They will face Korea DPR on Sat, Aug.16.
Dr. Shahtaji is a board-certified family medicine doctor. He provides primary care for patients of all ages, including preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. He is on staff at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) where he continues to work in family and sports medicine.
