AMSSM Foundation President and AMSSM Past President Margot Putukian, MD, represented AMSSM in September on an inter-association task force spearheaded by NATA. The task force unveiled new recommendations for developing a plan to recognize and refer college athletes with psychological concerns. The guidelines will be published in the Journal of Athletic Training later this month. As director of athletic medicine and head team physician for Princeton University, University Health Services, Dr. Putukian was invited to provide the team physician's perspective on mental health and collaborative care for athletes.
