Patient Presentation:
A collegiate basketball player presented to their athletic trainer during off-season workouts with complaints of progressive shortness of breath while running and jogging.

History:
Symptoms were initially attributed to presumed exercise-induced bronchoconstriction. However, the athlete noted an association of their symptoms only after consuming solid food a few hours before participating in physical activities. Consumption of liquids prior to exercising did not trigger the dyspnea associated with physical activity.

Physical Exam:
Normal cardiac exam and a normal pulmonary exam without wheezing. A skin examination was normal without rashes, or urticaria. Head, eyes, ears, nose, throat examination was normal without facial swelling, throat swelling, or dysphonia.
