Lab Studies:
None
Other Studies:
MRI left scapula - 8 mm circumscribed T2 hyperintense lesion within the medial aspect of the scapular body at the level of the posterior fourth rib. Components of the lesion extend beyond the ventral and dorsal cortical margins. The imaging features on this study are nonspecific. A CT is recommended for further evaluation.
CT scan left upper extremity - 13 mm lucent lesion within the medial scapular body, mildly expansile, with a thin rim of cortical bone surrounding the anterior and posterior margins of the lesion [photo 1] [photo 2]. While no specific imaging features are identified, chondroid lesions have a relatively high prevalence in this region. Given location within a flat bone as well as mildly expansile morphology and significant endosteal scalloping, correlation with whole-body bone scan is recommended.
Whole body bone scan - normal
