MRI of the right thigh showed a complete rupture of the semitendinosus tendon at its distal attachment, chronic in nature with retraction of the tendon 17cm above the proximal tibial insertion site. There was no bony avulsion Case Photo #1 Right Sagittal Oblique T2 Fat Suppressed, Case Photo #2 Right Axial Oblique T2 Fat Suppressed/Distal. Diagnostic ultrasound of the right thigh showed identical findings to the MRI. Dynamic scanning additionally identified adherence of the retracted semitendinosus tendon to the underlying semimembranosus muscle on resisted knee flexion Case Photo #3 Anatomic Sagittal Plane, Case Photo #4 Anatomic Axial Plane.
