Lab Studies:
Elevated Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate at 28 mm/hour and C-Reactive Protein at 3.8 mg/dL. Otherwise, no significant lab abnormalities.

Other Studies:
X-ray of the right ankle demonstrated extensive soft tissue swelling without joint effusion Case Photo #2 . Magnetic resonance imaging of the right foot and ankle demonstrated extensive soft tissue edema consistent with cellulitis and patchy areas of marrow edema, enhancement in the talus, navicular, cuboid, and calcaneus consistent with osteomyelitis Case Photo #3 Case Photo #4 . Wound culture was positive for methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Blood cultures: negative.
