Broad Differential Diagnosis:
The differential diagnosis included common peroneal or peripheral neuropathy, lumbar spinal stenosis, central neuropathy, or prior ankle inversion injury such as a Maisonneuve fracture resulting in acute trauma to the peroneal nerve. Due to chronicity of her symptoms, differential diagnosis may have also included multiple sclerosis or chronic exertional compartment syndrome, though less likely.
