Patient Presentation:
Seventeen-year-old male football player presented with right elbow pain after a fall.

History:
Patient is a 17-year-old male high school football player who presented with right elbow pain after injuring the elbow during a football game. Patient was running and tried to jump over another player when he fell and landed on his fully extended arm. Patient stated he immediately heard a pop and experienced severe pain. He was unable to move the elbow due to the pain. Sideline assessment was notable for elbow deformity, limited elbow flexion and extension, limited thumb abduction, strong pulses and intact sensation. He was placed in a structural aluminum malleable (SAM) splint in 40 degrees of flexion and sent to the ER via EMS. Patient denied any numbness or tingling in his extremities. He did not hit his head with the fall and denied headache, loss of consciousness, or other injuries.

Physical Exam:
Vital signs were within normal limits.
On inspection of his right upper extremity, there was a mild extension deformity and moderate swelling at the elbow with no ecchymosis and no open wound. There was diffuse tenderness at the elbow. Shoulder and wrist were not tender. He was able to give the OK sign, thumbs up sign, and abduct and adduct his fingers. His sensation to light touch was intact in median, ulnar, and radial nerve distributions. Radial pulses were 2+ bilaterally, and capillary refill
