MRI shoulder w/o contrast: Unremarkable.

Left shoulder X-ray: Unremarkable.

NCS/EMG: Mild to moderate left spinal accessory nerve irritation likely at the level of the left supraclavicular nerve region. There is reduced left trapezius muscle recruitment and some active denervation most noted in the left upper trapezius muscle. Nerve conduction slowing in left spinal accessory nerve is noted to left trapezius muscle as well. The remainder of the left shoulder girdle study appear intact.

MRI upper extremity/soft tissue: Denervation edema confined to the trapezius musculature with muscular atrophy in a distribution corresponding to the spinal accessory nerve. Case Photo #3
