Patient Presentation:
19 y/o offensive lineman presented with left cheek pain, swelling and fever of 101-degree F, started one day ago. Also had total body aches, fatigue, loss of appetite and left ear pain. Denied rash, sore throat, nasal congestion or vomiting.

History:
No relevant past medical or family history.
Review of Systems was negative.

Physical Exam:
Vitals signs normal other than temp 101-degree F. Tender left cheek swelling with ill-defined margins extending behind the angle of the mandible. No erythema, good ROM of mandible. 2 swollen, tender left anterior cervical lymph nodes. Abdomen with mild tenderness in LUQ, no hepatosplenomegaly. EENT, Heart, Lungs, neuro exam normal. Hearing grossly normal. Dental exam negative. Parotid duct negative for drainage. No groin or joint pain
