Lab Studies:
Basic metabolic panel was normal.
White blood cell count was 3,800 with 7% lymphocytes.
Platelets were 93,000.
Alanine aminotransferase was 88 U/L.
Aspartate aminotransferase was 59 U/L.
Troponin was normal.
Blood parasite smear was negative.
Blood cultures grew methicillin sensitive staphylococcus aureus.

Other Studies:
EKG was normal.
Chest xray was normal.
Chest MRI showed a small
sternomanubrial joint effusion
and mild enhancement Case Photo #1
of the sternum concerning for
early osteomyelitis.
ECHO was normal.

Consultations:
Infectious Disease was consulted.
